James Mason

Cybersecurity and Channel Advocate. Techie and Creative at Heart.

James has over 10 years of experience working with MSPs, VARs, VADs, and more to help change the face of IT and Cybersecurity for the SMB market.

James believes that what we do at ĢTV genuinely makes a difference in the lives of our customers. “The cost of a Cybersecurity breach for an Enterprise-level company, as much as it'll hurt, 99.9% of the time won't put that company out of business. For a smaller organization, it could mean exactly that. We're helping the guy with a dream to give his family a good life, not have that taken away because of some nefarious individual.”

James’ affinity for solving complex problems is what brought him into cybersecurity. Whether it’s cars, electronics, broken electronics, or DIY projects, James has always loved to tinker with things. At the beginning of his career, James started out doing internal IT Helpdesk tasks like resetting passwords and troubleshooting issues. He tried his hand specializing in different areas, but it wasn't until he saw people at a Cybersecurity Vendor reverse engineering viral code and explaining how that malicious code worked that he realized how cool the world of Cybersecurity was. He wanted to be part of it!

Today, James’ main focuses are two-fold: First, he looks after the ĢTV Platform from a full Product Marketing perspective, making sure any updates to the overall look, feel, and functionality of ĢTV are communicated to our Partner and Customer base. Second, he focuses on the technical aspect of our EDR Product, ensuring the more sophisticated and deeply technical aspects of the product are conveyed at both technical and non-technical levels.

James holds Certification from Pragmatic Marketing and has presented as a Keynote Speaker to an audience of 3,000+.

When he’s not working, James is a frequent traveler; he’s visited 21 US states and 23 countries across 4 continents! Originally from the UK, he moved to the US in 2017. He is still a tinkerer and loves taking apart things to find out how and why they work—from a project car to yard equipment he’s intent on fixing, to his latest project, a basement renovation to add an office to the family home, allowing them to welcome their second child!

What's your favorite cybersecurity tip, James?
“If you think something is too good to be true, it normally is. That's how they get you! If in doubt, don't click it.”
